Small business IT & security consulting, without the MSP sales pitch.

I help small teams understand what they have, where they’re exposed, and what’s worth fixing first — then build a plan that fits their size and budget.

Assessment first: We start by understanding your environment before talking about ongoing work or costs.

What I help businesses with

I act as an on-call IT and security advisor — not a help desk you never meet, and not a sales rep pushing bundles. You get one person who learns how your business actually runs and helps you make practical decisions.

Environment & risk assessment

  • Inventory of devices, users, and core systems.
  • Basic network mapping and external exposure review.
  • Check patch levels, antivirus and key security controls.
  • Identify the biggest risks to daily operations.

Security & hardening recommendations

  • Prioritized list of changes in plain language.
  • OS and application hardening guidance.
  • Account, password, and access control improvements.
  • Help picking realistic security steps for your size.

Patch management & maintenance planning

  • Review how updates are handled today (if at all).
  • Design a patch and reboot schedule that fits your hours.
  • Build a simple, repeatable maintenance routine.
  • Option for me to handle ongoing updates and checks.

Network & workplace reliability

  • Clean up unstable Wi-Fi and basic network issues.
  • Improve router, switch and AP layout.
  • Plan for new cabling or workstation setups.
  • Reduce “mystery outages” and recurring tickets.

IT roadmap & upgrade planning

  • Decide what to replace now vs. later.
  • Plan workstation and server refresh cycles.
  • Talk through cloud options where they make sense.
  • Align tech decisions with how you actually do business.

Ongoing support, when needed

  • On-demand troubleshooting and remote support.
  • Help onboarding or offboarding staff cleanly.
  • Periodic health checks and tune-ups.
  • Flexible billing: hourly, per device, per user or project-based.

How a business engagement works

  1. Initial conversation. We talk about your business, your team, and what’s not working.
  2. On-site or remote assessment. I review devices, network, patching and your security posture within an agreed scope.
  3. Findings & recommendations. You get a clear summary of what I found and what’s most important to address.
  4. Custom plan & quote. Billing can be hourly, per device, per user, or project-based — depending on the work.
  5. Implementation & follow-up. I can execute the plan, work with existing staff, or guide your team through changes.

How I handle pricing

I don’t publish flat business rates because every environment is different. Instead, I base pricing on:

  • Number of devices and users.
  • Complexity of your network and systems.
  • Level of responsiveness and support you want.
  • Whether you prefer one-time projects or ongoing help.

After the assessment, you’ll get a clear breakdown of recommended work and cost. If anything doesn’t make sense, I’ll walk through it with you in plain language.

Start with a conversation

Not sure where to begin? That’s normal. We can start with a short call about what’s giving you the most trouble — slow systems, security worries, network issues, or “it’s just a mess and I don’t know where to begin.”
